Jim started writing articles for his high school newspaper over 40 years ago. Since then he has contributed to Orange County's Register newspaper and written comedy for cable TV and many other publications. He's also was a DJ on two radio stations and done stage acting. His personal interests are playing guitar, taking chef's class, flying lessons in both single fixed wing planes and helicopters, and when he gets in a traveling mood he likes to visit the Caribbean.
He's had many careers including engineer, professional driver, pilot, musician, poet, publisher, chef and writer to name a few. In 1979 he moved to southern California and made many contacts in the entertainment industry and continues to enjoy all that he can try next.
In 2006 he began the genesis of Around OC. There was no "one place" to get it all when it came to ask "what can I do today for fun?" So Jim envisioned an all encompassing site that could answer that question. A death in the family put some of his dreams on hold and then it took years of planning and research to create such a site. But finally Around OC is here! As we go forward we want to make your entertainment choices easy to find and grow also. We look forward to changing the world where we can: In making each of our lives a little less stressful and a lot more happier!
